Ireland’s New Online Safety Act: What You Need to Know

Ireland: Online Safety and Media Regulation Act

The Republic of Ireland is a center of business and online technology. It is closely related to the UK and is a member of the European Union. The Online Safety and Media Regulation Act reflects these relationships and, similarly to the UK’s Online Safety Bill, establishes new definitions of harmful content that go beyond the EU’s DSA. The Act also creates a standard of ‘age-inappropriate online content.’

These standards directly affect platforms operating in this tech hub, with new requirements and sanctions for non-compliance. Access our one-page summary here to learn how this law affects your platform.
